A name about waves and wellness

The community explains that its name draws on “wellen,” the German word for waves and the Dutch word for wellness⁸. That idea of feeling well at home is a fair test for any accent wall: does the room feel calmer and more like yours once it is done?

Murals in Downtown Wellen Park

In February 2023, local artist Laura Pommier and Miami muralist Ivan Roque finished large murals downtown: great blue herons, flowers, butterflies, an oak landscape opening onto the lake, and a woman floating on the water⁷. People share their own photos under the #WellenLife tag¹⁰. For a feature wall, the lesson is scale and confidence: one wall, one idea, carried edge to edge.

The lake and the light
